Multi-Functional - Including Support for Healthy Blood Sugar Body Composition & Blood Pressure*

Cinnulin

Cinnulin PF® Active Compounds:

The chemistry evaluated in clinical research shows that the specific biologically active compounds in Cinnulin PF® are Type-A Polymers that have the major health benefits, particularly to those related to blood sugar levels.*

Cinnulin PF® supports:

• Normal blood sugar levels by aiding glucose transport mechanisms to assist the body with its insulin signaling pathways (Qin B, et al, 2009)*
• Blood pressure in healthy individuals* (Ziegenfuss, et al, 2006)
• Healthy Body Composition* (Ziegenfuss, et al, 2006)
• Women’s hormone balance* (Wang et al, 2007; Kort et al, 2014)

How Does It Work?

Dr. Richard Anderson from the USDA has done extensive research on the mechanism of action of Cinnulin PF® Type-A Polymers. This is the cinnamon extract that has been used in the clinical trials to demonstrate efficacy.

Cinnulin PF® Supports Women’s Hormones*

Two clinical studies have been performed showing that Cinnulin PF® supports women’s blood sugar levels, as well as hormones and the menstrual cycle (Wang et al, 2007; Kort el al, 2014). An 8 week randomized pilot study was performed with women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) to take either Cinnulin PF® or placebo to evaluate influence on blood sugar. Methods including fasting and 2 hour oral glucose tolerance tests at baseline and post treatment. The results showed that Cinnulin PF® significantly reduced insulin resistance but not in the placebo group (Wang, et al, 2007).

In 2014, a second double-blind, placebo controlled, randomized study was performed with Cinnulin PF® showing that it aids women with their menstrual cycles and may support hormonal imbalances. Women taking Cinnulin PF® had significantly, improved menstrual cyclicity over the placebo group (Kort, et al, 2014).

Cinnulin PF® and the Nervous System*

In 2014, a cell study was performed with Cinnulin PF® to evaluate if its polyphenols have an influence against free radicals of the central nervous system (Qin B, et al, 2014). The brain utilizes a large amount of oxygen for energy and consequently it is vulnerable to oxidative damage.

Cinnulin PF® and Potential Gastrointestinal Support

An animal study showed that the combination of Cinnulin PF® and the probiotic LactoSpore had a strong synergetic effect on phagocytosis, cholesterol regulation and blood sugar. The combination also demonstrated reduced intestinal damage in an animal model (Vetvicka, et al, 2013).

What is CINNULIN PF ®?

Cinnulin PF® is a unique proprietary, patented cinnamon extract, that has research to support its functions including blood sugar and blood pressure. Cinnamon has a long history of use for flavoring, as a spice or preservative, and for medicinal purposes. In 2007, a systemic review was performed on cinnamon’s safety and efficacy on various properties such as antioxidant, gastrointestinal and brain support and immune function (Dugoua, et al, 2007). After that time, further evaluation was done on cinnamon’s effects on blood sugar, insulin, and other functions. In an in vitro study with cinnamon’s doubly linked Type A polymers, glucose metabolism improved twenty fold (Anderson RA et al, 2004).

After years of investigation, Cinnulin PF® was developed as a water-soluble extract from the bark of the cinnamon tree using a proprietary extraction process called Controlled Polymer Purification Technology (CPPT). This process allows the important, biologically active compounds to be isolated of the potential toxins from the whole cinnamon.

Cinnulin PF® and Blood Sugar Research

Cinnulin PF® has been shown to reduce insulin resistance in vitro and in vivo studies by increasing phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase activity in the insulin-signaling pathway and thus potentiating insulin action.

Cinnulin PF®’s polyphenol type-A polymers have been shown to stimulate autophosphorylation of the insulin receptor and inhibit protein tyrosine phosphatase I. In addition, adipocytes treated with cinnamon extract in in vitro increase the glucose uptake and glycogen synthesis by these mechanisms (Qin, et al, 2010; Qin, et al, 2014). Cinnulin PF® was tested in a 12 week, randomized, double blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial with men and women with features of metabolic syndrome. Cinnulin PF® or placebo was taken at a dosage of 500 mg per day. Cinnulin PF® versus the placebo, demonstrated significant improvements in fasting blood sugar, systolic blood pressure and showed an increase in lean body mass and reduction in
body fat.*

Application and Serving Size

Cinnulin PF® can be delivered in a capsule, tablet, powder or liquid with a recommended serving size of 250 mgs twice daily prior to meals.
